A few years ago these were $5000 and up. This is an excellent printer that produces very nice quality text and graphics. Photographic output is not quite up to the level of the best inkjets, but then no laser really is. If you add up the cost of frequent inkjet cartridge replacements, then it makes economic sense to consider a laser printer.The C510n is noisy during startup and operation, but powers down to a silent sleep state. Network operations are flawless, although setup differed somewhat from the printed directions (I had to set up a generic Windows network port rather than use the Lexmark port, but either works fine.) It works equally well with Macintosh and Windows (I have both). As I said, quality is great, and once warmed up, it is FAST.
